A New Artist Platform for the Contemporary Art Community
Connecting Artists and Collaborators
Foundwork is a platform designed to help connect artists and collaborators across the global contemporary art community. It’s a focused venue for artists to introduce their work to an international art audience, where curators, gallerists, and others in the field can research and engage with practicing artists wherever they are based.
The platform is run in Brooklyn by Adam Yokell, a former gallerist. Recognizing the problems of access affecting many artists and exhibitors, Foundwork’s purpose is to provide an open ground for people to connect. Foundwork is a tool for artists and collaborators, not a marketplace, and is made for artists and art professionals to use independently.
Foundwork Guest Curators
To encourage engagement for participating artists, Foundwork hosts an ongoing Guest Curators program where practitioners from across the field are invited to highlight artists on the platform. Recent guests have included SPRING/BREAK Art Show Co-founders Ambre Kelly and Andrew Gori, London-based writer and curator Francesca Gavin, New York gallerists Lauren Marinaro and Helena Anrather, and video and performance artist Kalup Linzy, among others, with new guests invited monthly.
How to use Foundwork as an Artist
Foundwork welcomes all artists with active practices working in any media to join the platform. An artist profile on Foundwork normally has a $4 monthly subscription which includes a full profile on the platform and the ability to share your CV, an artist statement, and unlimited works.
How to Use Foundwork as a Collaborator
Foundwork welcomes all curators, gallerists, academics, and others who wish to research and engage with a wider range of artists. There is no charge to use Foundwork for researching and contacting artists, and all in the textur community are cordially invited to do so.
